2013 Women For Health Spring Luncheon
On Wednesday, May 8, 2013, the members of The Valley Hospital Foundation’s Women For Health gathered at the Ridgewood Country Club to celebrate their 2012 donation of more than $60,000 to The Valley Hospital. The gift was designated for use by The Valley Hospital’s Done in a Day program, a never-been-done program designed to meet the health screening needs of a population of women whose access or lifestyle issues interfere with scheduling appropriate wellness screenings.
With almost 150 members and guests in attendance, Julie Epstein, Foundation Trustee and Co-chair of Women For Health, welcomed everyone to the luncheon. Audrey Meyers, President and CEO of The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System, spoke about the importance of philanthropy to Valley and the critical role philanthropic women, in particular, have played throughout Valley’s 60 year history. Special guest speaker and best-selling author, Lee Woodruff, shared humorous and heartwarming stories that entertained the entire group. Danielle Gaglioti, Foundation Trustee and Co-chair of Women For Health, closed the luncheon and encouraged all the guests to consider joining this unique and generous group of philanthropic women.
Women For Health is a special group of women donors who want to make a difference in medicine at The Valley Hospital and Valley Home Care. Pooling their social and philanthropic resources, members individually commit to a two-year gift commitment of $1,000 per year. At the end of each year, the group selects which Valley program or initiative will be the recipient of their collective gift. Membership is open to all women who want to join.
