Ridgewood, New Jersey, May 11, 2018 – On Thursday, April 26th at 6:30pm, the Valley Hospital Foundation hosted its 17th Annual Leadership Reception at Valley’s Center for Health and Wellness in Mahwah. Nearly 130 leadership donors attended the event and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails before the presentation portion of the ceremony commenced.

David Bohan, Vice President & Chief Development Officer of the Valley Hospital Foundation, welcomed the guests and thanked them for their attendance and support. He reflected on the year of philanthropy, and the considerable impact gifts make throughout Valley Health System. Focusing mostly on the advancements in the areas of oncology, cardiology, and women and children, Mr. Bohan provided specific examples of enhanced care that were made possible in 2017 because of philanthropic support. Additionally, he talked about the unique features that set Valley Health System apart. “One phrase I’ve repeatedly heard in exchanges is that ‘Valley is a gem,’” Bohan remarked. “Valley’s staff is special because they provide superior care but still preserve a highly personalized experience.”

Audrey Meyers, President and CEO of Valley Health System, also paid tribute to the Valley supporters, talked about the renovations taking place in the Center for Childbirth as a result of philanthropy, and announced some of Valley’s most recent awards and achievements. “You make an impact through your gifts. You support critical areas that allow Valley to continue to be the preferred healthcare provider in the region,” she asserted.

Ms. Meyers also brought guests up to date on the progress being made with The “New” Valley Hospital, the modern, a 372-bed healthcare facility which will be conveniently located on over 42 acres in Paramus, NJ. “The new campus will serve as a single location for primary care physicians, specialists, oncology services, cardiac care, women and children’s services, ambulatory surgery, pain management, emergency care and of course inpatient services at the Hospital, to name just a few,” she explained.

In appreciation for each of their leadership gifts, recognition awards were presented to honorees Dave Landon on behalf of Armistead Mechanical, Peter Hamburger and Robert Rudin on behalf of Cushman & Wakefield, and Deany and Edward Rubin.

Next, staff from Valley’s Center for Health and Wellness gave tours of the new facility, which houses an integrated campus for diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative services, as well as a comprehensive fitness center.

The evening wrapped up with dessert, coffee, and a great appreciation of all of the donors. Guests were handed a copy of the 2017 Philanthropy Report as they departed.
