 6th Annual Scramble Fore the NICU Golf Outing

Ridgewood, New Jersey October 12, 2017  September 18th, enthusiastic golfers gathered at Valley Brook Golf Course in River Vale for the 6th Annual Scramble Fore the NICU golf outing.  Once again, the event was organized by Donald Doraski, Eric Wickstrom, Andrew Chalhoub, Aaron Cavallario, Joe Perkins, James Lin, Jason Eitel, Jodi Huntington, Frank Manginello, M.D., and John Hodson, all of whom had children cared for in Valley’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).  

“Most of us are parents of children who were born prematurely and treated by the wonderful doctors and nurses of Valley’s NICU,” offers Don Doraski. “Each year we attend this golf event to raise funds that will help other parents continue to experience this high-quality, compassionate care.

To date, this event has raised over $115,000 which includes this most recent outing having generated over $17,000 for Valley's NICU.  Tickets were sold for $175 per golfer, which included 18 holes of golf and lunch with prizes and a tricky tray raffle.  The tournament sponsor was Ernst & Young, and the lunch was sponsored by Panasonic and Broad Peak Manufacturing.  

The Valley Hospital’s 15-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Ridgewood, NJ has been designated by the State of New Jersey as a Level III nursery, a designation given to neonatal units able to provide the highest level of care for the highest-risk mothers and acutely ill newborns. Comprehensive medical care is provided by board-certified neonatologists, who are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
