Wayne Hills High School Football Punts Donation towards Valley’s Breast Center

Ridgewood, New Jersey, October 30, 2017 – During the halftime ceremony of the Wayne Hills High School home game on Saturday, October 28th, a $2,000 donation was presented to The Valley Hospital’s Breast Center.

Throughout the month of October, members of the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams, in conjunction with their friends, families and the Wayne Hills Football Booster Club, sold “Tackle Cancer” t-shirts to raise these funds. Wanting to make a ‘local’ impact, and since many members of the extended Wayne Hills football community have undergone breast cancer treatment through Valley’s Breast Center, this was the logical recipient for their charitable contribution.

The Wayne Hills Patriots Facebook page posted this encouraging message to breast cancer survivors: “We applaud your strength, perseverance and courage and acknowledge the fact that you have all fought the toughest of battles and emerged victorious! You are an inspiration to us and those who love you.”

The Valley Hospital Breast Center is grateful for this generous donation.  “This support demonstrates the community’s support of our breast cancer patients, and the services that The Valley Hospital provides,” said breast surgeon Laura A. Klein, M.D., Medical Director of The Valley Hospital Breast Center. “Gifts like this help save lives and help us continue to provide Valley’s patients with world-class healthcare!”

Wayne Hills emerged victorious that day against Wayne Valley, with a score of 31-0.
