Dear Valley Supporters,

The past few weeks have presented unprecedented challenges for our community. Throughout this crisis, Valley’s employees and medical staff have been working tirelessly to provide the best possible care to residents of our region. They are truly amazing - through their expert knowledge, compassionate care and innovative approaches to challenges faced on a daily basis – they get the job done. They deserve our collective thanks for the sacrifices they have made to care for Valley patients.

Many people have come to us and asked how they can help – there are several options:

MAKE A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION
DONATE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
DONATE COVID-19 SERUM
DONATE IPADS/TABLETS
CROCS FOR VALLEY STAFF

  • MAKE A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION: A fund, COVID-19 Response Efforts, has been established at The Valley Hospital Foundation.  Any contributions to this fund will go directly to assisting in the massive efforts at the hospital to deal with this crisis, including the purchase of N95 masks, face shields or goggles, isolation gowns, nitrile gloves and other equipment and supplies essential to COVID-19 patient care.  You can give online by clicking HERE or by sending a check payable to The Valley Hospital Foundation to 223 North Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood, New Jersey 07450.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE CARES ACT: Legislation known as the CARES Act was passed by Congress and signed into law on March 27, 2020, and include some provisions that are applicable to charitable giving and may provide some significant gift-planning opportunities.  For a summary of the various provisions, please click here to learn more.

  •  DONATE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): You can directly donate the following equipment to the hospital:
       - N95 masks
       - Surgical masks
       - Fluid resistant isolation gowns
       - Non-latex (nitrile) gloves

We have established a drop-off site at the hospital's main entrance at 223 North Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood. Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

  • DONATE COVID-19 SERUM: Did you recover from COVID-19? Your blood may help save the life of someone at The Valley Hospital. Valley is proud to join the Mount Sinai Health System, as well as other healthcare institutions across New York and northern New Jersey, in asking recovered COVID-19 patients to be serum donors. Eligible patients may volunteer to donate blood, which will be screened for the presence of the disease’s antibodies. Antibody-rich plasma can then be transferred into COVID-19 patients at Valley whose conditions are considered severe or life-threatening. This process, called plasmapheresis, has been used in China to help COVID-19 patients improve. Click here to learn more.

  • DONATE IPADS/TABLETS:Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, connecting Valley patients with their loved ones virtually through video face-to-face technology has quickly become in demand.  In order to expand this capability and allow more patients to virtually “visit” with friends and family, as well as to allow physician telehealth visits, we are asking for IPad and tablet donations.

Your equipment (IPad/tablet and charger) donations can be shipped to The Valley Hospital Foundation, 15 Essex Rd – Suite 508, Paramus, NJ  07652, Attention:  IPad/Tablet Donations or dropped off curbside at one of the two locations:
      1. Bins located in front of the main hospital at 223 North Van Dien Ave in Ridgewood.
      2. Bins  located at 15 Essex Road in Paramus in the covered front entrance of the building

Please be sure to mark your package:  "IPad/Tablet Donations" and attach a note which indicates your name, telephone number, email and mailing address so that we are able to express our gratitude.

Please also make sure to wipe all data and reset your device to Factory Settings before making your donation.

  • CROCS FOR VALLEY STAFF: Hundreds of Valley's employees could use new Crocs to help them stay safe (they're easy to clean and skid resistant).  We are currently in need of women's size 7, 8, 10 and especially 9, unisex size mens size 8, and and cannot accept any Crocs with holes in them (only the closed design acceptable).  Your in-kind donations can be sent to The Valley Hospital, attn: CROCS, 223 North Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450 or dropped off at the door bins located in front of the main hospital labeled "CROCS".

Whatever you can do will be needed and appreciated.  This crisis has reminded us why Valley was established and why it is so important to have a first-class healthcare system and facilities close by to address our own medical needs.

Thank you in advance for your support.  All of us at The Foundation Office are available to you if you have any questions at 201-291-6300. We are here for you during this difficult time.
