Dear Valley Supporters,

The past few weeks have presented unprecedented challenges for our community. Throughout this crisis, Valley’s employees and medical staff have been working tirelessly to provide the best possible care to residents of our region. They are truly amazing - through their expert knowledge, compassionate care and innovative approaches to challenges faced on a daily basis – they get the job done. They deserve our collective thanks for the sacrifices they have made to care for Valley patients.

Many people have come to us and asked how they can help – there are several options:

  • MAKE A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION: A fund, COVID-19 Response Efforts, has been established at The Valley Hospital Foundation.  Any contributions to this fund will go directly to assisting in the massive efforts at the hospital to deal with this crisis, including the purchase of N95 masks, face shields or goggles, isolation gowns, nitrile gloves and other equipment and supplies essential to COVID-19 patient care.  You can give online by clicking HERE or by sending a check payable to The Valley Hospital Foundation to 223 North Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood, New Jersey 07450.

  •  DONATE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): You can directly donate the following equipment to the hospital:
       - N95 masks
       - Surgical masks
       - Face shields or goggles
       - Fluid resistant isolation gowns
       - Non-latex (nitrile) gloves

We have established a drop-off site at the hospital's main entrance at 223 North Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood. Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • HELP MAKE MASKS: You can make a mask for our front line clinicians!  We are providing kits with approved materials that you can take home, assemble, sew and return completed to us.  We are currently in need of 1/8 inch elastic banding for the masks.  If you have any, please drop off the banding in the container at the entrance to the Ridgewood Police Department on Maple Ave in Ridgewood.  If you would like a kit, please contact Sandy Carapezza at  acarape@valleyhospitalfoundation.org
  • FEED VALLEY STAFF: Many residents of communities served by The Valley Hospital have asked how they can donate food to the nurses, physicians and other health team members at Valley who have been tirelessly and selflessly fighting the battle against COVID-19.

Due to the tremendous response from our community, we are asking for donations of 40 or more individually, packaged meals (Pizza is currently excluded from “individually packaged”) from restaurants and caterers only in a single delivery.  Restaurants/caterers must follow Valley’s Food & Safety Requirements in order to protect the health of our staff and patients.  Unsolicited food donations cannot be accepted. These deliveries are being scheduled for specific times of the day in order to cover all of our shifts. If you would like to support this effort through direct donations or support of your local restaurant, please first email bdaly2@valleyhealth.com for more information. Please note we will do our best to respond as soon as possible, but this may take several days. Thank you for your patience.

The Village of Ridgewood also recently established a Feed the Frontlines initiative to provide meals to The Valley Hospital, EMS, Ridgewood Police and Fire Department and those in need of support.  You do not have to be a resident to participate. Please visit http://www.healthbarnfoundation.org/donations/feed-the-frontlines/ for additional information.  This option allows you to donate as little as one meal and choose from selected participating Ridgewood restaurants.

  • CROCS FOR VALLEY STAFF: Hundreds of Valley's employees could use new Crocs to help them stay safe (they're easy to clean and skid resistant).  We are looking for sizes 5 through 13 and cannot accept any Crocs with holes in them (only the closed design acceptable).  Your in-kind donations can be sent to The Valley Hospital, attn: CROCS, 223 North Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450 or dropped off at the door bins located in front of the main hospital labeled "CROCS".

Whatever you can do will be needed and appreciated.  This crisis has reminded us why Valley was established and why it is so important to have a first-class healthcare system and facilities close by to address our own medical needs.

Thank you in advance for your support.  All of us at The Foundation Office are available to you if you have any questions at 201-291-6300. We are here for you during this difficult time.
